We were delighted to be included in the Wedding Flowers & Accessories Magazine, ‘Note book’ section for November and December 2016! We were asked to construct a bridal bouquet, Table centre and Accessory for a wedding, in the colour peach, we did this gorgeous deconstructed bouquet below, with silvery foliages, ferns, Garden and Standard Roses, Dahlias, Astilbe and Scabiosa Pods. Our table centre was a rustic square lantern surrounded with a mass of flowers along with a flower girl wand with navy accents.
We were asked to be part of a feature ‘Beyond the bouquet’ featured on pages 47-51 of the July/August issue of An Essex Wedding Magazine, a great article with details on table centres, buttonholes and accessories other than the bridal bouquet for your wedding and wedding party. Great read and feature!
Our beautiful bride Charlotte was featured on the front cover of Absolute Bridal Magazine, the winter 2016 issue, sitting on the beautiful swing at Blake Hall, which had been decorated buy us with Roses!
It’s been a while since we last posted 2016 have been incredibly busy for us at The Flower Mill and we just didn’t have the time to spend on our blog. We thought we would give you a selection of images
from some of our best bits of 2016. There were so many, but here are just a few images we were lucky enough to be given by some wonderful brides and photographers, so thank you!
We are nearly fully booked for 2017 and are constantly overwhelmed by the amount of lovely comments and interest we get, we work to very high standards and this really has given us the reputation we now have today.
We love the way the flower industry is moving with looser more fluid designs coming into play with deconstructed bouquets, large and rustic, along with natural blooms and blush colours still being very popular, they are beautiful and photograph so well. Brides are being very adventurous and bringing in lots of textures and we are loving the romantic styles we produce and are being asked for.
We will be back at our old Favourite for 2017 including Blake Hall lots next year, but we also have weddings at Channels, Houchins, Friern Manor, High House, Newland Hall, Hylands House, Leez Priory, Gaynes Park, Fanhams Hall, Maidens Barn, Hengrave Hall, Cooling Castle, some of which we have not yet decorated, so will be looking forward to new challenges and inspiration.
We Look forward to meeting new couples at up and coming wedding fayres and consultations in 2017! We only have a few weddings left now until the end of the year, and will keep you posted on these and up and coming events!

What a fantastic year!! And just as we settle into 2016 I wanted to give you all an overview of 2015 along with photos of some of our favourite bits, and our plans going forward.Well, what can I say, it was our busiest year to date, with us reaching well over 70 weddings in 2015. I feel like we have come a long way over the last 8 years since starting my own business and I am delighted with the name and business I have built for myself and overwhelmed with the amount of recommendations we now have.
As a business it is always my aim to be very hands on, by keeping the business very personal and bespoke. I wanted to work on weddings only, as this is my true love with floristry and even though I have worked and managed many shops, around London and Essex, when starting the business I wanted to give couples my 100% attention for their wedding flowers. I do not run a shop, I do not do funeral flowers, gift flowers or other events and this allows me to give all of my time and attention to your wedding flowers, and with over 15 years experience we think it’s the perfect combination. Even though we had so many weddings in 2015, I was still able to design all of the flowers and be fully hands on with the make up of venue flowers and all bridal flowers. It was tough but I did it, with help from some fully trained freelance florists colleagues that help out at The Flower Mill on busy times. Due to our year being so ‘Full On’ I did sacrifice any time off, which my hubby was not too pleased about, although secretly I think he liked having more time to watch football. We do now have a team of fully trained freelance florists who can be called on when needed at such times when we have large weddings. These lovely ladies have been hand picked by myself, as getting the right support when needed is important in fulfilling The Flower Mill brand that I have worked so hard to gain, but I am happy to be the driving force in all aspects of The Flower Mill I’m too much of a ‘Monica’ not to be, but enjoy a little help from my flowery colleagues
We totally love what we do and love our work, I could not think of doing anything else. Our reputation stands very proud and this is what drives me to perfecting every wedding.
We just love creating your flowers and seeing the brides face when delivering her bouquet or receiving the many many thank you letters we do. We also love photos so it’s always a pleasure to receive any professional images! Thank you photographers out there!
Another big part of last year was the big move to a larger studio! We now have much more room, and is my little place of flower heaven!
Finally, as we look forward to our weddings for 2016 and beyond we would like to continue creating beautiful flowers for weddings, building those all important relationships which with love, with our future couples and supplying a service to couples that we truly believe in. We are reducing the number of weddings we take per year up to around 30-40, as my husband really did forget what I looked like last year! We would like to thank each and every couple who have booked us, recommended us and have let us be a small part of such a special day! We look forward to moving forward in 2016 and seeing what it brings and would like to thank you all for keeping us in a job we just love to do! Happy New Year! Xxx
